Steps to Enable SAML SSO with Okta

To enable SAML SSO for your account, you must be an owner with an active Team subscription. Follow these steps to set up SAML SSO:

  1. Sign in to your Okta admin console and navigate to the Applications section and add a new application:

    • Click Add Application and then Create New App.
    • In the popup, select Web as the platform and SAML 2.0 as the sign-on method.
    • Click Create.
  2. Configure General Settings

    • App Name: Enter a name such as “Cloudviz.io” for easy identification.
    • Optionally, upload a logo for the application.
  3. Configure SAML Settings
    In the SAML Settings section, input the Cloudviz.io service provider details from Security & SSO section > Cloudviz.io service provider details section:

    • Single Sign-On URL (ACS URL): Enter the Assertion Consumer Service URL provided by our app.
    • Audience URI (SP Entity ID): Enter the Cloudviz.io Service Provider Entity ID.
    • Default Relay State: Leave this field blank unless instructed otherwise.
    • Name ID format: Choose the format EmailAddress.
    • Attribute Statements:
      Add an attribute statement to map the user’s email:
      • Name: email
      • Value: user.email
  4. Review and Finish

    • Click Next to review your configuration.
    • Click Finish to complete the setup.
  5. Assign the Application
    Assign the application to the appropriate users or groups within Okta.

  6. Integrate with Cloudviz.io

    • Download the metadata file from Okta once the application is created, then upload it in Cloudviz.io under Settings > Security & SSO. This completes the SAML SSO integration for your Cloudviz.io account.
    • Once the configuration is successful, you will see an indication that “SAML is enabled” along with the “Single Sign-On URL.” Allow a few seconds for the URL to become fully operational.

By following these steps, you enable your team to log in to Cloudviz.io using their Okta credentials.
